If Olivia Dean Won Best-Dressed Brit At The 2026 Grammys, These Were The 7 Runner-Ups

Much has been written about the power of a corseted Vivienne Westwood dress: a garment that has a way of materialising at the precise moment a celebrity crosses the threshold from home-grown ingénue to bona fide star. (See: Dua Lipa, not long after the culture-shifting success of Future Nostalgia, wearing a silk minidress and ghillie platforms at the 2021 Brit Awards.)

At the 2026 Grammys, that mantle fell to PinkPantheress, who, like a classical Boudica statue bewitched with life, posed on the red carpet in a silk-chiffon gown printed with a degraded Union Jack, from Westwood’s 2012 red-carpet capsule. And then there was Lola Young, who arrived besuited in Westwood sweatpants before reappearing mid-ceremony in a draped tartan corset and tights to perform “Messy”.

Talk about scaling new heights: it was Charli XCX – a woman well-acquainted with the might of a Westwood dress, having married in the brand’s Nova Cora mini 12 months after the life-changing release of Brat – who handed Young the award for Best Pop Solo Performance. (She did so in a leather Chrome Hearts two-piece, because she is, of course, now rubbing shoulders with Kylie Jenner.)

The best-dressed Brit of the evening, however, was Olivia Dean, in a double-whammy of custom Chanel: first, a sequin-taffeta gown, with an eruptive, feathered waist – a version of which was last week worn by Nicole Kidman at Matthieu Blazy’s debut haute couture presentation – followed by a Little Red Dress for her performance of “Man I Need”. Dean became the first Black British woman to win Best New Artist, and, as anti-ICE protestors gathered across the United States, duly acknowledged the milestone as “the granddaughter of an immigrant… a product of bravery”.
