This evening’s red carpet required no such persuasion. The Prada gown she’s wearing – lustrous, mint-blue satin, cut to flare at the hips – was the first dress they tried on. “Everyone in the room just fell in love,” Ha says. “Owen, Holly’s assistant, even got goosebumps.” She describes the look as “Cinderella-esque”, but was careful to avoid anything too literal, too period (19th-century method dressing was briefly discussed, and then just as swiftly dismissed.) “The question for us is always, ‘Does this look chic?’ Some people nail the on-the-nose approach, but I’m still figuring out what works for me. I don’t want to box myself into dressing to a theme.” And yet: there is something inevitably fairytale about a dress being conjured for a single evening, and returned when the clock strikes midnight.

As she embarks on the buzziest press tour of her career, does Ha still think about best-dressed lists? “This is a big-scale thing,” she says. “A lot of work has gone into it, and I just want to do my best. Don’t get me wrong: I love watching videos dissecting red-carpet looks, but I’ve come to realise that there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, and if a certain outfit makes a certain person feel invincible, that’s the most important thing.” Plus, Ha has more important things to contend with, such as her 28th birthday later this week, for which she has booked a lunch at AT, followed by a night at a jazz club La La Land was filmed at. “I’ve never been to Montmartre, or seen the Eiffel Tower at night. But most of all, this week is a chance to shake off my perfectionism, to celebrate nine months of filming, and to just go ‘Oh, let’s bathe in this moment a while.”
