Speculation Over: These Are 2026’s 9 Key Hair Colours

If 2025 was all about bold and vibrant hair colours, then the hair colour trends of 2026 represent something of a gear shift. Warm, earthy and relaxed, the shades coming through are deeper and less vivid – blending darker hues with grown-out, undone roots and ends.

While shades of red – amber, copper, cherry – are still trending, they’ve been updated to include deep bases and lowlights. Blondes, too, are morphing into something that feels more lived-in and natural. The top line? The year 2026 is all about embracing shiny, natural-toned hair.

Here, we detail the nine hair colour trends set to be seen everywhere this year.

Celebrity colourist Cass Kaeding describes this type of beige blonde as having a “buttery, cool champagne undertone”, and predicts it will be the most popular blonde in 2026. “It’s a mix of warm and cool tones, but the warmth doesn’t have any brassiness,” Kaeding tells Vogue. “The pinch of gold helps the blonde to look brighter, healthier and more flattering across all skin tones.”

To best look after your colour, Kaeding says to use gloss treatments between colour appointments. “A gloss can work wonders,” she says. “It will keep your hair looking shiny, refreshed and healthy. I recommend glossing three to four weeks after your last appointment.”
