Kate Middleton Makes Her First Appearance Of 2026 In A Favourite Shade
It was back to work for the Princess of Wales today, who made a surprise appearance alongside Prince William at London’s Charing Cross Hospital. For the occasion, Kate turned to her go-to suiting, re-wearing a burgundy suit from Roland Mouret that she’s worn several times in the past, including for a visit to Boston back in 2022 and a symposium for her Shaping Us campaign in 2023.
This time around, the royal teamed her sharp tailoring with a tonal pussybow blouse from Me+Em, DeMellier’s chocolate-brown suede Hudson bag and matching Gianvito Rossi pumps, along with her Cartier Trinity earrings. In many ways, the outfit was reflective of Kate’s everyday royal uniform, comprising just the sort of hardworking staples that she wears on rotation.
Still, the Princess has recently shown that she’s not afraid to add more trend-led pieces to her wardrobe. Take her small Hudson bag, which she debuted during a visit to the Anna Freud Centre in November and brought back out on Christmas Day, along with a brown plaid coat by Blazé Milano. As noted by this magazine, chocolate-brown accessories have been everywhere this season, from the runway to the pavements.
Coincidentally, burgundy also happens to be trending right now, with the colour featuring in the autumn/winter 2025 collections of the likes of Saint Laurent, Prada, Burberry and Max Mara. It just goes to show: if you keep something in your wardrobe for long enough, it’ll eventually come back into fashion once again.
