The 17 Best-Dressed Stars At The 2025 British Independent Film Awards

The Roundhouse last night played host to a summit of so-called “Internet Boyfriends”. Well, sort of. The venue was holding this year’s British Independent Film Awards, and it just so happened that most of the nominees – Kit Connor, Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Charles Melton, Will Poulter, Joseph Quinn and Alexander Skarsgård among them – are the kind of men whose faces travel far and fast across the feed.

For that, you can thank two films built on two very different strains of red-blooded masculinity. Pillion stars Harry Melling as a timid traffic enforcement officer opposite Skarsgård’s biker, as the pair embark on a BDSM-fuelled relationship. Warfare, meanwhile, follows a Navy Seal platoon played by Connor, Quinn and Poulter. Each of them looked good in their respective interpretations of “black suit”.

So a special shout-out to the women, who embraced the colours and contours that fashion has to offer. Carey Mulligan wore a custom sage-green Prada column; Jessica Brown Findlay chose a feather-hemmed cocktail dress from Prada’s autumn/winter 2017 collection; and Emily Watson arrived in an aqueous Roksanda gown in a flaxen shade of yellow; while Marianne Jean-Baptiste wore a draped scarlet pantsuit that sat well within her love of Yohji Yamamoto, Marni and Issey Miyake.
