In Paris, Dame Helen Mirren just added “fashion show opener” to her résumé. On Tuesday night, the Oscar-winning British actor kick-started Stella McCartney’s spring/summer 2026 runway show with a spoken performance of “Come Together” by the Beatles. The star then returned to the front row, where she sat with Vogue’s Global Editorial Director Anna Wintour to take in the collection.

Aside from Mirren’s sharp grey suit – accessorised with a chunky belt, sleek black clutch bag and futuristic, visor-like shades – we couldn’t help but notice her classic (and classicially Parisian) beauty combo: a sleek bob and a bold red lip. The short, ultra-flattering hairstyle is eternally popular (her seatmate on the front row should know), while a classic red lip always semaphores sophistication, and is synonymous with French style. Add them together, and you have a beauty look that’s tailor-made for Paris Fashion Week.
