Bella Hadid Rings In Autumn In A Classic (And Affordable) Trench

Bella Hadid is slowly returning to work following a flare-up of Lyme disease that recently left her hospitalised. “You have fought through another month of treatment,” wrote her mother Yolanda – who suffers from the same chronic illness – in a supportive Instagram post. “There simply aren’t words big enough for the darkness, the pain, and the unknown hell you’ve lived through since your diagnosis in 2013… this disease has brought us to our knees, but we always get back up.” Case in point: Bella was yesterday afternoon photographed in Paris ahead of next week’s spring/summer 2026 shows.

Whether the model will take to the runway remains uncertain – for the past two seasons, she has scaled back to a single appearance at Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent – while a cryptic Instagram post featuring the front page of a “highly confidential” Orebella deck suggests her trip may be tied to other projects. Still, her look suggested business as usual: the crisp collar of a white shirt fanning out from beneath a crunchy tobacco-brown Mango trench, which she paired with straight-leg jeans and wool Manolo Blahnik slingbacks in the same earthy hue as the Coach Tabby bag slung over her shoulder. It was an outfit that heralded the arrival of autumn more decisively than any meteorologist could have.

“I’m sorry I always go MIA. I love you guys,” Bella captioned an Instagram carousel last week, sharing swipe-through glimpses from her hospital bed. It reminded me of something she said in British Vogue’s June 2025 issue: that the guilt of being absent from life can feel as heavy as the illness itself. “There are days that I felt down on myself for being so sensitive,” she explained. “I think nobody really understands chronic illness. If I can get in the shower and make myself breakfast, I see that as an accomplishment.” she added, before requesting, “Can you make this all sound a little bit prettier and less dramatic?” In Paris, her outfit seemed to do exactly that.
