The team used Fara Homidi’s Essential Face Compact to gently trace around the models’ eyes, nose and chin. Full coverage was avoided to keep the base fresh and to ensure that natural features were able to shine through. Eyelids were purposefully “greasy” and slick with shine, a look achieved using an unreleased product and the Essential Bronzer Compact, while the same product was applied over the cheekbones on just a few models, to give them an ethereal rust-coloured flush. “This process was aligned with the characters that Erdem created through each garment,” Homidi explains.

Lips were a striking focal point, and made to look “careless, messy, pouty and blurry.” Homidi used either pink or red pigment from her Essential Lip Compact in the shades “Red 1” and “Holiday 1” with “a flat, fluffy brush to quickly tap the lips”, before adding a subtle grazing of definition using the Smudge & Contour Lip Pencil in Faun and Bruni. “We made the colour pool in the centre of the lip, allowing it to fade out as you look towards the outer edges.”
