The Story Behind The Bird-Like Beauty On Harris Reed’s Runway
On night one of London Fashion Week, Harris Reed unveiled his spring/summer 2026 collection – titled The Aviary – in a dimly-lit, salon-style presentation in King’s Cross. An effort to exaggerate and embellish the human silhouette through architectural shapes, make-up artist Sofia Tilbury drew inspiration from film noir for the accompanying beauty look – a “bird-like” effect achieved through contrasting graphic lines and lit-from-within skin.
“We wanted the looks to mirror the collection’s duality,” Tilbury tells British Vogue. “To enhance structure, they feature a fiercely defined eye – but with minimal colour to really accentuate the models’ facial [features], and complement Harris’ whimsical silhouettes.”

Using Charlotte Tilbury products, the radiant base was achieved by applying Charlotte’s Magic Cream on each model, followed by the Unreal Skin Hydrating Foundation Stick and Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer. Next, Tilbury subtly shaded cheekbones and foreheads using the Hollywood Contour Wands, and Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Sticks.
Eyes were sculpted with Charlotte’s Palette Of Beautifying Eye Trends in shades Super Neutral and Digital Lilac. Then, the team went in with the Bedroom Black Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliner to add an extra dose of drama. Says Reed: “We delved into how people play with eyeshadow, using this to craft a bold, cinematic eye – the make-up feels gorgeous, gothic and rock and roll!”
