Kate Middleton Wears Winter’s Trending Colour For Her Annual Christmas Carol Service

The Princess of Wales loves to dress on theme: think of when she opted to wear French fashion house Dior (a rare choice for the royal) for President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit in July, or the time she wore a sky-blue Alexander McQueen jumper in a nod to the Ukrainian flag, during a visit to London’s Ukrainian Cultural Centre back in 2022.

It’s no surprise, then, that for today’s Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, Kate opted for a suitably festive look, in the form of a forest-green coat dress by Catherine Walker, worn with a faux-fur collar by Troy London and black suede boots. Known for her habit of rewearing pieces from her own wardrobe, the Princess was first photographed in the coat during a visit to Ireland in 2020, before bringing it back out for a royal train tour in December that year.

While Kate has typically gone for festive burgundy for the Together at Christmas event in the past (aside from 2023’s angelic white), forest green happens to be a trending colour this winter – with the rich shade being particularly popular among the street-style set during fashion month, alongside chocolate brown.
