Tatcha’s Bestselling The Dewy Skin Cream Is On Sale This Black Friday

Japanese-inspired skincare brand Tatcha harnesses three highly hydrating ingredients to formulate its plumping The Dewy Skin Cream. The trio of red algae, hyaluronic acid and a biomimetic squalane lipid blend provide instant and long-lasting moisture and can be attributed to why this has become the brand’s bestseller.

I am a true Tatcha stan. Since it launched in the UK almost four years ago, I’ve tried almost every single product in the 30+-strong collection. And I’ve yet to come across a Tatcha product that I don’t like. The Water Cream is a summer essential moisturiser for me, the lime-scented The Longevity Serum firms and combats dulling and The Rice Wash is the smoothing, hydrating rice-based cleanser my combination skin calls out for – but my favourite is The Dewy Skin Cream. And I’m not alone. According to the brand, one sells every 60 seconds.

  • Key ingredients: plumping Okinawa algae, antioxidant-rich purple rice bran, gold and humectants (glycerin & hyaluronic acid)
  • Benefits: plumps, deeply hydrates and protects skin from pollution and oxidative stress
  • Why it’s Vogue-approved: This Tatcha moisturiser is gaining cult status for its ability to deliver instant radiance and plumper, firmer skin over time. A pearl-sized amount is all you need for a dewy glow, thanks to a rich formula that cocoons skin in camellia extract and moisture-magnetising ingredients. Gold-infused, it leaves skin gleaming and helps reduce inflammation, with further antioxidant protection courtesy of Japanese algae and purple rice.

The Dewy Skin collection that includes a milk moisturiser, skin mist and serum has Selena Gomez’s seal of approval, telling Vogue in her Beauty Secrets video, “It’s so thick and yummy.” Meghan Markle, too, has it in her skincare line-up with her make-up artist Daniel Martin detailing to Allure, “These products have always been a part of my skincare ritual before make-up on all my clients who tend to be on the drier side.”

My thoughts on Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream

The silky, creamy texture feels like a treat to my combination skin. On areas of dryness, it acts as a nourishing, glow-giving delight, while on the oily T-zone, I find it non-greasy but slightly heavy, so I tend to use less in this area. The texture is rich enough that I use it as part of both my AM and PM routines; however, I replace this formula with The Water Cream for the daytime in summer for a lightweight alternative. In just one use, my skin felt plump and radiant, but by the end of the tub (and I scooped out every last drop), I found my skin was so soft and hydrated with no flaking or dryness, even with the impact of the bracing cold British winter.

The product is a fan-favourite on the Vogue beauty desk too. “Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream is a personal favourite, and I’m not alone in loving it,” says contributing Vogue writer Iman Balagam. Aesthetician Samantha Susca also gives it her stamp of approval, noting that it works well as a daytime cream for those seeking a richer texture. It layers beautifully with essences and serums, and the light, pleasant fragrance is neither irritating nor overpowering. “It’s perfect for dry or dehydrated skin,” she says.

The ingredients in Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream

  • Hyaluronic acid: The hydrating hero provides quick-fix hydrating and plumping.
  • Red algae: This ingredient was chosen for its ability to attract and retain water.
  • Hadasei-3: The Tatcha signature complex is made up of fermented rice, green tea and algae that are rich in amino acids for barrier support.
  • Biomimetic squalane: Also selected for longer-lasting hydration.
  • Japanese purple rice: shields the skin from external aggressors that can cause damage like ageing.

What are the benefits of Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream

With a rich, bouncy cream texture, Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream glides onto the skin for instant nourishment. With three types of hydration, it provides immediate and long-lasting moisture and supports the skin barrier.

How to use Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream

The Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream comes with an accompanying gold spoon that determines the exact quantity required. However, I have winter-parched skin, so I like to layer up. Apply onto cleansed skin in an upwards motion and massage into the complexion.

Who should use Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream

In clinical trials, all participants saw an improvement in plumping, suppleness and radiance. When field researching for this article, while almost every single person I asked who had tried the product waxed lyrical on its prowess, I was informed by someone with oily skin that they found the formula was too much for their complexion, only exacerbating the oily feel, which is something to take into consideration. Also, those sensitive to fragrance may not like the scent – personally, I found it only heightened the daily moisturising step.
