Beachy Waves Work In Winter, Too, Says Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Beachy waves don’t have to be confined solely to the summer months. One star who knows this all too well? Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Attending Claridge’s annual Christmas tree unveiling – Burberry did the honours this year – Huntington-Whiteley wore her long hair in waves that tumbled over her shoulders. Her loosely crimped beachy waves looked especially effortless against her wintry burgundy leather trench coat and Burberry check trousers.

Recreating the supermodel-approved look is easy. If you’re after a long-lasting style, a big-barrelled curling tong is your friend. First, spritz on heat protectant to limit any damage, then section your hair and take your heated tong, gently wrapping the hair around it from the bottom up to just where your eyebrow is. Avoiding the hair at the the top of the head will help create a tousled, beachy wave, rather than structured bombshell curls. Repeat with each section, gently combing through your hair once you’ve tonged it with either a wide-toothed comb or your fingers.

Or, try the heatless method; simply tie your hair into a low bun while it’s damp, twisting the hair before you wrap it around into a bun – a silk hair tie or scrunchie will stop any unwanted indentations forming. Let it loose once the hair is dry, and you should be left with mussed-up, tousled waves – as though you’ve come straight off the beach. Even if it is almost Christmas.
