Proving the hypothesis that you can’t outrun your archetype, Miss Bella Hadid, who, despite her newly acquired cowboy boyfriend and enduring horse girl spirit, is unable to strut away from her office siren leanings.

It’s been a relatively quiet year for Bella (though most people’s definition of “quiet” doesn’t include walking for Saint Laurent or in the Victoria’s Secret Show), but Gen Z’s answer to Princess Diana has returned to our feeds and our hearts for the Middle Eastern launch of Orebella. Wearing a maroon skirt suit that was padded at the hips, her two-piece look felt like a throwback to the golden age of wire-frame Miu Miu glasses and Gisele in The Devil Wears Prada.

With professional rodeo rider Adan Banuelos by her side, Bella has embraced the Texan spirit this year, cowboy hats and boots aplenty. Still, it’s worth remembering that not so long ago, her Y2K pinstripes and cropped blazers were everywhere we looked. While this version of corporate attire might not be entirely office appropriate, as the festive season approaches and the threat of office Christmas parties looms large, there’s no harm in indulging in a little retro glamour.
