Now Amal Clooney Is Embracing Showgirl Style

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll have noticed that this month was kicked off by Taylor Swift hysteria, given that the pop star just released her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, last week. In the days since, Swift has been doing the talk show rounds in extremely glitzy and theatrical dresses. Her wardrobe has been all about embracing flashy, sequined pieces that are worthy of the spotlight. And now, Amal Clooney is getting in on the shimmering action, too.

On Friday night, alongside her husband George Clooney, the human rights lawyer attended the premiere of his new film, Jay Kelly, at the BFI London Film Festival. Her red-carpet look was decidedly showgirl-worthy: Clooney donned a sequined, strapless gown with a fringed skirt by Tamara Ralph – complete with a feathered shawl, for extra drama. Why not?! Ralph has been the go-to designer for celebrities looking for such razzle-dazzle on the step and repeat. Stars like Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, and Halle Berry have also been spotted wearing her sparkling creations.
