Dakota Johnson Just Took Naked Dressing To Its Sheerest Extreme

Autumn might be upon us, but naked dressing isn’t going anywhere – just ask Dakota Johnson who took a break from the eclectic art teacher looks last night to up the sartorial ante. Joining Demi Moore in full black sequins and Lauren Sánchez-Bezos in golden Schiaparelli for the fourth annual Kering Foundation Caring for Women dinner, Johnson’s sheer silhouette dominated amongst the sumptuous fabrics and corsetry.

The Materialists actor arrived in the season’s most daring sheer look yet: a totally see-through, high-neck, long-sleeved black Gucci gown with sparse floral appliqué and a smattering of sequins. She layered a delicate silver diamond necklace over the sheer neckline and paired it with green-toned diamond earrings and barely-there black stilettos.

It’s a return to form for Johnson – a red-carpet risk-taker known for seamlessly switching between elegance and edge – after a summer of breezy New York street style and laid-back Ibiza moments. And across the Atlantic, Margot Robbie was making her own case for the naked dress, stepping out in a bedazzled, pastel-toned Armani Privé gown (and glitter-encrusted thong) for the London premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.
